December 2016 Christmas Fair and Christmas Champions
Saturday 3rd December
Visiting Santa in his Grotto
Today we held our annual PTFA (Parents, Teachers and Friends Association) Christmas Fair. As always the fair was packed with Christmas fun: Santa’s Grotto, a chocolate tom bola, crafts stalls, singing, delicious cakes, and so much more!
One of the many exciting things about this year’s fair was that each class had a fundraising stall at the fair. The classes came up with an idea, designed, planned and ran the stall themselves (with many thanks to their teachers who did an incredible job of supporting them!)

Maple Class (YR) made their own Reindeer Magic Food in some beautiful handcrafted boxes. This was a very popular stall and many of the children who came to see Santa in his Grotto were very pleased to buy the magic reindeer food as Santa told them the sparkles helped Rudolph’s nose glow extra bright!
Cherry Class (Y1&2) made lots of Jolly Jam Jars, packed full of sweets, and also come decorative candles. This stall was also very popular – you can never have too many sweets! Well done Cherry class for making such beautiful jars.

Willow class made lots and lots of delicious Christmas Cookies. They were decorated beautifully and carefully packaged so families could take home a tasty treat. Well done Willow class!
Lilac Class (Y5&6) had the brilliant idea of making a Treasure Map game. They worked in groups to come up with different designs for their map and then Ms Battle chose her favourite design to use at the fair. This game was incredible popular and Lilac Class won the PTFA Christmas Champions Cup for attracting the most visitors to their stall. Well done Lilac class for your wonderfully creative stall and all your hard work.
The PTFA had arranged for all the children to draw a portrait of themselves to be used in this whole-school tea towel. What beautiful drawings!

What an amazing total! Our PTFA Chair reveals the incredible total raised at the fair. A HUGE thank you to the PTFA for organising such a fabulous and fun fair, to the families who came on the day to support us and also to everyone who came to enjoy the fair on the day. Your generosity is overwhelming and has helped the PTFA well on it’s way to meeting its fundraising target this year. Thank you!!
The Chocolate and Bottle Tombolas – very popular with children and adults! Thank you very much St Mary’s Families for your incredible generosity in providing all these delicious treats for the fair!
