Thursday 25th June 2015 – a recount by willow class.
On a glorious sunny morning, staff and children were buzzing with excitement, why? Because they were going on a whole school trip to the seaside. They were visiting Hastings for their Fantastic Finish.
The whole school met at the station and were greeted by the teachers, who were looking forward to the trip, but more importantly, they were carrying lunches and there might even have been some spare!
After our train ride to Hastings and our teachers wearing paper hats we had arrived. We had to walk quickly to get to the Smuggler’s Adventure. We explored the caves and learned about how the caves were used.
While Willow and Lilac classes were enjoying the Smugglers Caves Maple, Cherry & Oak were having a wonderful time at the Aquarium.
At lunchtime everyone gathered on the beach in the beautiful sunshine to enjoy their packed lunches.
In the afternoon we went to the Fisherman’s museum and the Shipwreck museum where we talked about fishing and how boats are used.
Then it was time to walk back to the train station and catch the train back to Tunbridge Wells. Everyone had a wonderful day out at the sea side and learned a lot about what life was like for people who lived and worked by the sea.
Thank you to Mr Turnbull for organising such a fantastic trip!
