On the last day of term, we held our end of year service in the church. It was great to see so many families, volunteers and community members coming together. The Year Sixes did themselves proud leading the service alongside Reverend Julie.
Memories of their time at primary school, personal prayers and a short DVD of the wonderful memories they have given us (courtesy of Lorna Simm) were shared; along with a few tears from those of us watching! Each Year Six was given their moving on booklet, Bible and Year book.
Together we also thanked the amazing volunteers who have given up their time and shared their skills and passions with us this year. Flowers (courtesy of Hilary Rowberry and the Governors) and cards were presented by the children to each of these wonderful individuals. Thank you all for your time and support at St Mary’s.
Another extremely special moment was the handing out of awards for progress and perseverance to each year group. The winners were as follows:
Reception: Florence and Jay
Year One: Emelia and Thomas
Year Two: Alfie and Elouise
Year Three: Seren and Oliver
Year Four: Lottie and Eshan
Year Five: Leila and Rosie
Year Six: Jemima and Jasmine
The Whitmore Shield for Graciousness was awarded to Florence and presented by Mr Whitmore himself. Whilst the Year Two shield was awarded to Charlie. the sports award was presented to Yasmin. An exceptional well done to each of these individuals
Another beautiful moment was the recital recorder club did of Amazing Grace. The calmness and awe that descended on the congregation highlighted how well they did. Thank you to Katrina Thomas for running the club and providing the children with this opportunity.
All in all, a wonderful way to celebrate the end of term.
