Lilac Forest School April 2018

APRIL, 2018

Louise Sanders

The sun shone and it couldn’t have been warmer. We had a lovely shady walk to the woods.

We stopped an learned about ‘May Flower’, blackthorn blossom as we climbed the stile.

We learned how to create leaf prints in the woods. We identified lots of different leaves and flowers and then used hammers and mallets to print them onto fabric, by hitting the water and plant dyes out of them with hammers! Everyone had a go and the results were beautiful.

We had a go at picking nettles safely and learned how to eat them! Some of the class challenged themselves to do this!

We needed to hide in the shade a bit, and whilst we were there, found lots of other things hiding from the heat of the sun also.
