The children at St Mary’s had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day. It was wonderful to see so many Wallys, Winnie the Poohs, Little Red Riding Hoods, and other fabulous characters. The children were brilliantly inventive in designing and putting together their character’s costumes. Over the next week everyone will be writing about the fun day they had at school dressed as their character. Thank-you to children and their families for the fantastic work put in to this fun day!
We followed this up with a professional storyteller visit on Monday where Jamie entertained the whole school and even our youngest pupils in Maple Class sat mesmerized for a whole 45 minutes! KS2 children went on to complete storytelling workshops and we look forward to seeing how this has inspired them in their own writing.
