“While we teach, we learn,” said the Roman philosopher Seneca.
Over the past few weeks the children from Y5 have been in Larch class supporting the Y2 children for half an hour each morning. The Y5 children were Learning Captains and each day they would help with a different task.
The Y2 children all agreed that they really enjoyed the Y5 children coming in to class to support them in their learning. They said the reason they enjoyed it so much was because the Y5 children are all so nice and really patient and helpful. They added they cannot wait until the Y5 are Y6 next year. Well done Y5!
While Y5 were in Larch class the Y6 children have been doing their final preparations for their SATs, which start on Monday. Good luck Y6!
The Y5 children have also enjoyed the past few weeks. Some of them are interested in being teachers and their natural ability to communicate and encourage was very clear. All children have increased in confidence and have demonstrated perfectly that the best way to learn is to teach.
