On 9th November, 9 of our Y5 & 6 girls took part in a girls only football tournament. This is what they wrote about it:
‘We went on a minibus to Beacon Academy for a football tournament. There were 7 teams altogether and 5 matches played. Even though we came joint 5th, we had a really good, fun time. The defender, midfielders, strikers and goalkeepers were brilliant at their jobs. We will never forget the time we had!’

Boy’s friendly football match
As the boys were unable to participate in the football tournament at Beacon, a friendly match was arranged at Jarvis Brook instead:
‘When we arrived, we did some warm-ups then started the match. St Mary’s played against Jarvis Brook who scored the first goal. George tried a shot at goal but Jarvis Brook saved it. In the first half Jarvis Brook scored 5-0 against us. During the second half they were awarded a penalty and scored another 2 goals making 8 against St Mary’s. We may not have won but we still had a great time’ Olly & Zack
