Starfish Malawi

“We cannot change the world immediately, but we can make a life at a time.” - Chris Knott, Founder & Chairman of Starfish Malawi

At St Mary's, we are extremely proud to be working in partnership with Starfish Malawi, a Christian charity who work hard to reduce extreme poverty and build the Kingdom of God in the lives of all children. Linking with them means educational partnerships are created that develop global citizenship for children in Malawi and here in the UK. We are specifically linked to Kajendere Primary School, with whom we have shared letters, pictures and donations - you can find out more about them at

Partnering with Starfish Malawi allows our pupils to explore Christianity as a global faith through our regular contact with the pupils in Malawi, our fundraising events and reflective pause days! It encourages our pupils to put the Christian values explored in Collective Worships into practise and see how they are linked to others around the globe through their faith.

“and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.” Isaiah 58:10

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
